Surf Girl mag photoshoot with Devon's first female surfer, Sue Whiteley, age 75

This summer I headed to Devon’s northern shores to speak to Sue - thought to be Devon’s first, possible the UK’s first, woman surfer - and her daughter Sarah (ex-pro and Walking on Waves surf school founder) to find out more about surfing’s evolution from sub-culture to Olympic sport.

A late summer wedding...

I had the pleasure of being entrusted to capture some of Gemma and Ryan’s wedding this September…the part where all their friends and family joined them for lots of laughs, smiles, ice cream and dancing…Hip hip hooray you beauts!

Going, going, going, gone!

This September I was asked to document one of Stags Estate Agents and Auctioneers’ biggest farm auctions of the year near Crediton, Devon.

Wildcat brings Duke of Sussex to meet Royal Marines recruits

The Royal Marines standing to attention outside the Officers Mess knew His Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex was moments away.

Prince Harry arrived at the Royal Marines Commando Training Centre in Lympstone in one of two Navy Wildcat Maritime Attack Helicopters under blue skies and sunshine. Drawn from the Commando Helicopter Force, which provides crucial aerial support to the Royal Marines, they sound as fierce as they look.

Once the whirr of the blades had slowed to a stop, the prince, who assumed his role as Captain General Royal Marines in succession to his grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh in December, jumped out and strode towards the Officers Mess where he received a ceremonial welcome, looking happy and relaxed as he chatted to the Commandos.

Published in the Western Morning News, August 2018

Had just 10 minutes to capture a few moments of the annual folk extravaganza that is Sidmouth Folk Week, which spills out of myriad venues including marquees, church halls and pub gardens, onto the streets where internationally acclaimed folk musicians and street artists give impromptu performances.

Photoshoot in the buttercups, just in time for grandma's birthday! (and before the lambs got in there and ate them all...)
